Brew in Town
At Delaware Park, our goal is to create the ultimate entertainment experience for you by providing a variety of exciting offerings. In response to local demand for comfortable, relaxing environments in which to gather safely, a first-class brewery was the perfect addition. Based on our rich Thoroughbred horse racing heritage, we are thrilled to add 1937 Brewing Company to our plentiful amenities. In 1937, Delaware Park was the first pari-mutuel racetrack to open in the State of Delaware and the only one to host Thoroughbred and Arabian breeds.
Our “old school” charm is the foundation of our success and continues to create nostalgia and inclusion among guests, the community and team members. What better way to pay tribute to our rich and colorful history than to not only memorialize it in the brewery name, but to showcase our longtime equine ties through a unique beer selection, décor and retro atmosphere. In doing so, we have proudly created another “first” in the First State: the first craft brewery in a Delaware casino!

Each of our designing and planning phases were influenced by guest preference, convenience and accessibility. 1937 was built in the heart of our facility; by renovating our former High Roller Pit and HOPS Bar, the trackside and casino was thereby linked. While visiting 1937, go “All In” with the adjacent exciting Casino gaming including Slots, live table games and poker. Boasting large TV screens throughout the brewery, you can easily place your professional and college sports bets or racing wagers, then watch the games and racing simulcasts from across the Globe. Whether it’s taking some “me time” at the craps table or meeting friends for an evening escape, 1937 will surely elevate your craft beer experience.
You can bet on our friendly team members and seasoned brew master to make each visit a memorable one any day of the week.

ABOUT THE BREWMASTER:
Cory McDonald
For many people leading a platoon of M1A1 tanks in the Army would be the highpoint of their lives. Not so for our brewmaster, Cory McDonald. During his time in Germany Cory fell in love with the amazing beer and about the same time back home the craft beer boom was happening. When he returned he was glad to see that American beer had caught up and surpassed what he had experienced over the years in Europe.
Fast forward to when Cory read “Brewing Up a Revolution” about how through sustainable brewing practices we can save the world. A further log was thrown on the fire that was Cory’s love for beer and the need to brew was now on. Cory got his start at Neshaminy Creek outside Philadelphia and then moved on to found Blueprint Brewing. After Blueprint, Cory spent a significant time at 2nd Story Brewing in Philadelphia and now he calls here home!
Cory loves all things hoppy but especially delights in brewing classic styles. His desert island beer is Stone’s “Sublimely Self Righteous” but delights in a crisp, clear pils at the end of a hard day. A father of two delightful girls and a resident of South Philly you can find him at the ballpark rootin for the Phils when he’s not on the brew deck or running triathlons.
